The Young Adult Ministry at Chestnut Assembly of God is a place for young adults to grow in faith, build a genuine community, God- centered friendships and experience the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Whether you’re in college, starting a career, or navigating life’s next steps, we come together to worship, learn God’s Word, and encourage one another in our walk with Christ. Our heart is to see young adults rooted in biblical truth, empowered by the Spirit, and living out their faith with purpose.
YOUNG ADULTS
(Ages 18-30)
Julie Perez
A faithful member of Chestnut Assembly of God, Julie Perez currently leads the Young Adult Ministry alongside her husband of 22 years, Ivan Perez. Together, they are proud parents of their 20-year-old son, Christian.
She is deeply committed to the Young Adult Ministry, providing spiritual guidance while cultivating kingdom friendships and God-centered relationships. Her heart is to create a welcoming space where young adults can grow in faith, discover purpose, and build meaningful connections.
With a deep passion for ministry, she has faithfully served for more than 25 years in various roles, including Women’s Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Young Adults Ministry, Missionettes, Sunday School, and as a Small Group Leader. She also completed three years of Bible Institute, equipping her with a strong biblical foundation and a heart for leadership.
Her desire is to lead with excellence, make a positive impact, and inspire others to become their best through the love of God and a growing relationship with Him. She is especially passionate about encouraging others to overcome life’s hardships by drawing strength from the Word of God and her personal testimony, empowering them to persevere in faith and walk confidently in their God-given calling.
Ivan Perez
Ivan Perez is the Production Director at Chestnut Assembly of God and serves as a Deacon within the church. Alongside his wife, Julie Perez, he leads the Young Adults ministry, investing in the spiritual formation, relational health, and future marriages of the next generation.
With over 25 years of ministry experience, Ivan has served faithfully in worship as a pianist and bassist and previously as Director of Worship at 27th Street Revival Center in Camden, New Jersey. His ministry background also includes leading marriage ministry, where he has helped couples establish strong, Christ-centered foundations rooted in biblical truth, accountability, and intentional living.
Professionally, Ivan works as a Software Architect for a Wall Street trading firm in Philadelphia. His career requires a high standard of leadership, operational excellence, financial stewardship, strategic thinking, integrity, and disciplined decision-making—principles he believes are deeply aligned with biblical wisdom and essential to both ministry leadership and healthy relationships.
Ivan speaks with clarity, humility, and pastoral insight, calling young adults to approach relationships with maturity, purpose, and faithfulness, and to prepare for marriage with the same intentionality they would apply to any calling entrusted to them by God.
